Waikanae in the Sun

When the weekend arrives and as has been of late the sun arrives too - we tend to head up the Kapiti coast to Waikanae, it's 40 minutes outside of the city and is a really beautiful unspoiled place. We just love walking along the vast coastline and it tends to bring out the child in me n C too - including my efforts to do a handstand much to the amusement of M who asked me to do more - I don't think he could quite believe what he was seeing!

If we were to buy any land and build a house in the future this would be high on our list, and so we'd have these views from our abode on the Kapiti coast!

It is amazing to think that this kind of view would be in our reach and somewhere, where there are no traffic jams, no X5's and no crowds to spoil the beauty - shushhhh! :) Apologies for the amount of pics here but it's such a magical spot as the sun goes down over Kapiti Island and the light is so pure and you can't help but take photos.

Myles would love a trip over to Kapiti Island in the summer - it's so amazing and I reckon you'd manage to do the walk to the peak - though you will probably have to carry Myles half the way. The views from the peak on a clear day are spectacular - often you can see Mt Taranaki. That coast line is very beautiful and the dune walks are something special. Also worth visiting Queen Elizabeth Park, where there's a tram ride down to the beach and also horse riding at 'Stables on the Park'. Gorgeous photos of you all having an absolute 'live in the moment' time of it!"
